document called the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mase.gov.it\/portale\/web\/guest\/il-finanziamento-di-natura-2000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">PAF (Prioritised Action Framework)<\/a><\/strong> for the Region of Tuscany, related to the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mase.gov.it\/portale\/web\/guest\/rete-natura-2000\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Natura 2000 Network<\/strong><\/a>.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-1cbd934 e-flex <strong>biodiversity conservation<\/strong> policy, designed to ensure the long-term <strong>maintenance<\/strong> of <strong>natural habitats<\/strong> and species of <strong>flora and fauna that are threatened or rare at the community level<\/strong>. The network consists of ecological areas across the EU, as established by the <strong><a href=\"https:\/\/www.mase.gov.it\/portale\/web\/guest\/direttiva-habitat-\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">Habitat Directive (92\/43\/EEC)<\/a><\/strong>. These areas account for both environmental and socio-economic needs.<br \/>The <strong>PAF<\/strong> is a <strong>strategic planning tool for a set time frame<\/strong> (such as 2021-2027), aimed at outlining the necessary measures for implementing Natura 2000 across different Regions and Autonomous Provinces, including the financial needs and corresponding EU funding sources (ERDF, ESF, FEAMP, EAFRD, LIFE).<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-93a9950 e-flex e-con-boxed parallax_section_no qode_elementor_container_no e-con e-parent\" data-id=\"93a9950\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<div class=\"e-con-inner\">\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b09362a e-con-full e-flex parallax_section_no qode_elementor_container_no e-con e-child\" data-id=\"b09362a\" data-element_type=\"container\" data-e-type=\"container\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-9cac335 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"9cac335\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>The <strong>PAF<\/strong> focuses primarily on <strong>identifying priority needs<\/strong> related to conservation measures for <strong>Natura 2000 sites<\/strong>, specifically for the habitats and species for which these sites were designated. It also considers green infrastructure, which includes essential environmental elements to maintain the ecological coherence of the network.<br \/>In Italy, the preparation of the PAF is coordinated by the Ministry of the Environment, with Regions and Autonomous Provinces responsible for compiling the document in line with the requirements of the Habitat Directive, Article 8. The Commission&#8217;s evaluation ensures quality and accuracy in the document, supporting the integration of Natura 2000 funding needs with EU funding tools for the 2021-2027 programming period.<\/p><p>Currently, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.regione.toscana.it\/-\/rete-natura-2000-in-toscana-2\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\"><strong>Tuscany&#8217;s Natura 2000 Network<\/strong><\/a> includes <strong>159 terrestrial or marine sites<\/strong> covering approximately <strong>833,788<\/strong> hectares. Of these, terrestrial sites account for around 327,000 hectares, approximately 14% of the region\u2019s total area.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-b0a304a e-flex e-con-boxed
